Sweet Lew’s Barbeque

$1.00

This very casual little bbq joint is located in the Belmont neighborhood of Charlotte. I love Belmont because it actually feels like a homey neighborhood, and Sweet Lew’s adds to that vibe. You walk in and order from the full-display counter and they put it on a tray for you to dine in or in a to-go container for take-out… however you like! According to their website they boldly claim to have “the real NC barbecue experience”, offering brisket, chicken, pork, ribs, smoke-fried wings, and more! They offer you a choice of sauces, conveniently named and labeled by the meats that they are perfectly suited for. Almost like other restaurants do for wine. Which shows you how much care and respect they have for their sauces and their meats. They offer numerous sides including some unique ones that you probably have never heard of or rarely see, such as “bbq hash”, “bbq red slaw” as well as boiled peanuts, or Brunswick stew. And for a sweet treat, try the dirt pie for dessert! The creativity of their menu items is a huge plus, and the taste is too!
