Cajun Queen

$2.00

This is another one of those quaint Charlotte restaurants built in an old house, and this one hails from the year 1918. As the name reveals, this restaurant specializes in good ol’ Cajun fare straight out of N’awlins. I think they are proudest of their Bbq Shrimp (sauteed in beer!) because they provide you a recipe for it right on their website! They offer nearly everything blackened and/or fried, including catfish, chicken, pork tenderloin, shrimp, crawfish, and oysters. They have many specialty entrees in well-known Cajun styles such as etouffee, scampi, Creole, and Diane. You will find all the flavors that make your mind drift away to memories of the last time you vacationed in New Orleans. (And hopefully you have.) The food here is truly special and I found their portions to be quite satisfying. This is a great choice if you are fond of this kind of cuisine. And the cute setting in a refurbished two-story old house is so cozy and welcoming.
