Please don’t be deterred by the logistical hoops you have to jump thru to get this phenomenal pizza! The first time I tried one of their delectable offerings, I ordered online at noon and the site auto-replied that it would be ready to pick up at 7:30pm! They are only open during dinner hours, and they are closed Sun thru Tue. How do they get away this lack of convenience?! – Because their pizza is just that good! Located in a cute white building in the Optimist Park neighborhood, this shop is a special rarity as it is a nationally renowned, black-owned pizza restaurant! At first, they only served pizzas for take-out, but as business has grown (not a surprise…), they now provide inside dining, but that comes with a catch as well. As of the time of this writing, the next available rezzy is two months out! Which again shows you how good they are. So good that the New York Times named them one of the 22 best pizzerias in the entire US! Quite the accolade coming from a media company based in New York! The menu is pretty simple: You choose a red, white, or vegan base, and then you can choose one of two meats (pepperoni or sausage), and then you can top it off with any of several high-quality toppings like mushrooms, onions, peppers, kale, arugula, or garlic. I must say that for me, this pizza was way more stunningly delicious than I even expected. It is definitely at the top of my “favorite pizza in Charlotte” list!

This is not a votable restaurant because of the limited seating and how far out the reservations are.

Style: Casual (and with a strong take-out business)

Reservations: Resy

Meals: Dinner

Neighborhood: Optimist Park (the neighborhood, not the Optimist (food) Hall)

Address: 510 E 15th St
