Basil Thai
Probably one of the swankiest Thai restaurants I’ve ever experienced, but what else would you expect from a Thai restaurant in Uptown? Their website touts the restaurant as “refined Thai”. It is part of a chain, but this location is special because it’s the only one in North Carolina. (All the others are in South Carolina.) They have multiple elaborate-sounding soups including a duck pho (wow!). They also serve several salads. They feature specialties such as Volcano Shrimp. They also have a number of standard entrees that you would find in many other Thai restaurants including curries, and rice or noodle dishes… including my favorite: Pad See Ew! This is a formidable choice if you are staying Uptown and want great Thai food with a side of panache.
Style: Upscale
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Reservations: Open Table
Neighborhood: Uptown
Address: 210 N Church St
